Teenage boy charged after fatal stabbing

A 16-year-old boy has been charged with murder after a man was stabbed to death.

Police were called to reports of a fight near Parkhouse Court in Hatfield, Hertfordshire, at about 13:10 GMT on Sunday.

A man in his 20s died at the scene.

The teenager, from Hatfield, was arrested in London on Tuesday and taken to hospital for treatment. He was later charged with murder and possession of an offensive weapon, and is due to appear at Hatfield Magistrates' Court on Saturday.

Police have also arrested and bailed a 17-year-old boy from Hatfield, who was held on suspicion of murder.

A 35-year-old woman, who was previously arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender, remains on bail.

Welwyn Hatfield Ch Insp Pete Frost, said: "This incident has shocked the community and my thoughts are with the victim's loved ones.

"Local neighbourhood officers will remain in the area, and if you have any concerns then please do speak to them.

"You can also speak anonymously to Crimestoppers, external, who are independent from the police."
