Donald Trump arrived at Prestwick Airport on Friday evening at the start of a four-day visit to Scotland

US President Donald Trump has arrived in Scotland for a four-day private visit.
He is due to meet Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer and First Minister John Swinney, but began his first day by playing golf at Trump Turnberry.
His motorcade drove to the luxury resort in South Ayrshire after Air Force One touched down at Prestwick Airport on Friday evening.
A major security operation has been under way in South Ayrshire and Aberdeenshire ahead of the president's trip.
Saturday: Golf, a buggy entourage and protests

First order of business - Trump played golf on the Turnberry course on Saturday morning


He was accompanied by his second son Eric (centre)

The entourage included at least 15 other golf buggies

Snipers were put in place near the temporary security fences

A demonstration against Trump's visit was held in Edinburgh with several hundred attending

The motorcade made its way from the airport to the golf course at Turnberry in Ayrshire

A number of roads have also been closed

Police have been drafted in from a number of forces and are using a variety of vehicles
