A teenager has appeared in court charged with a number of rape and sexual offences close to a train station alleged to have occurred on the same evening.
Sonny Boyes, 19, from Exeter, is accused of two rapes against a 16-year-old girl at Clyst Halt Avenue in the city on Friday evening, Exeter Magistrates' Court heard.
Mr Boyes is also accused of four counts of sexual assault against a 17-year-old girl at the Digby & Sowton train station in Exeter and on a train heading into the city.
No pleas were entered and magistrates remanded Mr Boyes in custody to appear at Exeter Crown Court on 12 June.
In a statement on Sunday, Det Insp Emma Lefort, of Devon and Cornwall Police, said: "The victims continue to be supported by our specialist officers at this time.
"We continue to investigate the incidents and want to hear from anyone who was in the vicinity of Digby & Sowton railway station, or on a train passing through, between 20:45 and 22:00 on Friday 9 May."
