Investigators have been unable to determine the cause of a fire which gutted a disused building in Chesterfield.

Derbyshire Fire and Rescue Service said five fire crews were sent to tackle a blaze at the two-storey property in Old Road at 17:23 BST on Tuesday.

The flames were extinguished but the roof of the building and its interior were heavily damaged.

A fire service spokesperson said an investigation had concluded that the cause of the fire was undeterminable due to the severity of the fire and damage to the property.

Derbyshire Police also attended the fire and anyone with information about how it started has been urged to contact the force.
