Woman seriously injured in 'large bulldog' attack

A woman has been seriously injured in an attack by a dog in Dumfries and Galloway.
Emergency crews were called to the village of Kelloholm at about 18:25 on Saturday following reports of the incident.
The animal, described as a “large bulldog-type dog,” was subdued in the McConnel Street area by officers before being destroyed.
The woman was taken to Dumfries & Galloway Royal Infirmary for treatment.
