A grant fund of £400,000 will support charities in the Channel Islands that are helping people affected by the cost of living.

Lloyds Bank Foundation for the Channel Islands (LBFCI) said 10 grants of £40,000 will be available to charities which could show "a significant increase in demand due to the impact of the cost of living crisis on people who are socially excluded and disadvantaged".

In 2025, the foundation will celebrate its 40th anniversary.

The foundation said it had given more than £25m to charities in the Channel Islands since it launched 39 years ago.

Foundation chair Philippa Stahelin said "we want to ensure those charities who have been most affected receive our help".

"The past few years have been especially difficult for charities, beginning with the Covid-19 pandemic and followed by the cost of living crisis which have had the double impact for charities of increased demand and increased cost," Ms Stahelin said.
