More than 40 jobs will be created when a new discount store opens in Staffordshire.

B&M is set to take over the Poundstretcher store at Linkway Retail Park in Cannock and open its doors on 23 July.

Staff from Cannock & District Foodbank will unveil the new shop, which will create 43 jobs.

The food bank was nominated to open the store because of its work to tackle food poverty in the community, B&M bosses said.

The new store manager said: “We’re feeling extremely positive about the creation of more jobs for local people, and we hope customers are going to be delighted with their new store.”
