Two people have been rescued as firefighters tackled a fire in a kitchen.

Crews from three stations were called to Hungerford Drive in Maidenhead after the fire broke out on Monday shortly before 12:20 BST.

Wearing breathing apparatus, crews entered the property and rescued the pair. One person received immediate emergency care at the scene. Both were handed over to South Central Ambulance Service to be treated for symptoms of smoke inhalation.

Firefighters used a hose reel to put out the fire and a fan to clear smoke from the property. The cause of the fire has not yet been confirmed.
