A cricket club is celebrating a return to its hometown after 10 years.

Woodbridge Cricket Club has been based at Ash Park in Campsea Ashe, Suffolk, for the past decade and has seen five promotions in the Two Counties Championship since 2019.

The club said it would be moving to Woodbridge School in time for next season, which captain Scott Button said was "exciting news" and would allow the club to grow.

Ralph Pruden, head of sport, health and fitness at the school, said it felt like a "no-brainer" to make sure the pitch was also used during the summer holidays.

Speaking about the move, Mr Button said: "We have created some wonderful memories [at Campsea Ashe]. It is a lovely place, I can't hear a bad word said about it.

"I absolutely loved every moment I spent there. We have secured many promotions, many great games of cricket there.

"We leave with sadness, but we look at the future and this is a great opportunity to grow."

Mr Pruden added: "We see the growth of cricket as a real key area for us.

"In discussions with Scott, he spoke about their ambitions to become one of the best clubs around and that fits so well with us.

"We want to provide a pathway for our kids... to have one of those clubs working so closely with us I think can only be a benefit to our students and the cricketers in the local area."
