Children's welly boot exchanges are being organised in libraries to help ease the cost of living.

Hampshire County Council has set up the scheme as part of its Warm Welcome initiative, similar to its already-popular coat exchange.

It is hoped the initiative will give welly boots and coats a second life, benefitting those in need while also being a practical solution for quickly growing feet.

Tadley and Chineham libraries are hosting both exchanges and many other libraries across the county are taking part in the coat exchange.

These include Aldershot, Farmborough, Yateley, Fleet, Totton, Hythe, Lymington, New Milton, Ringwood, Fordingbridge, Romsey, Hayling Island, Eastleigh, Winchester and Andover.

The council asks that any donated items are clean and in good condition.
