A motorway has reopened after heavy smoke from a major fire forced it to close earlier.

Footage shared on social media showed several trailers ablaze at the Euroway Trading Estate, off the M606 near Bradford, with the sound of loud bangs heard.

Ten fire engines were sent to the scene and three remained there as of 16:30 BST on Saturday, with crews damping down, according to West Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service.

Residents living nearby, particularly in West Bowling and Bierley, had been asked to keep all doors and windows closed.

West Yorkshire Police had been providing support at the scene, a spokesperson for the force said.
