Residents across parts of North Somerset have had water supplies restored after a water main was damaged.

Bristol Water customers in Nailsea, Clevedon, Wraxall, Claverham, Portishead, Clapton in Gordano, Weston in Gordano, Portbury and Yatton were impacted by the problem on Tuesday.

The company provided those affected with free bottled water whilst the main, in Backwell, was fixed.

“The fix was completed early this morning and all customer supplies were restored late last night," a spokesperson said.

It was the second incident of its type in the area, with part of the A4175 road between Bath and Bristol collapsing due to a burst main.
