Two men charged in connection to Bristol disorder

Detectives have charged a man with committing violent disorder after protesters clashed with police in Bristol on 3 August.

Jamie Easterbrook, 43, was arrested by officers at his home in the city on Saturday night, Avon and Somerset Police said.

He remains in police custody ahead of an appearance at Bristol Magistrates’ Court on Monday.

A 40-year-old man has also been charged with causing criminal damage to a police vehicle during another demonstration at Old Market on 7 August.

Ardel Shapalang is due to appear at Bristol Magistrates’ Court on 12 August. He remains on conditional bail until then.

In total, 21 people have now been arrested in connection with the disorder on 3 August, with nine so far charged with offences.
