A five-year-old girl has died in hospital following a car crash earlier this month.

Emergency services were called to the single-vehicle crash in Bishport Avenue, Hartcliffe, in Bristol, at about 20:20 BST on 14 August.

Four people were taken to hospital, one of whom in a serious condition, Avon and Somerset Police said.

Renewing an appeal for information, the force confirmed that it was with "great sadness" that the girl had died this week from her injuries.

A police spokesperson said the girl's family were being offered support by a specially-trained family liaison officer.

Enquiries are ongoing and anyone who witnessed the collision or has dashcam, doorbell or CCTV footage is asked to contact the police.
