A driver involved in a crash in Leeds is believed to have had a medical episode at the wheel, according to police.

West Yorkshire Police was called to reports of a Mazda CX5 hitting street furniture and a tree on Station Road at around 13:00 GMT on Wednesday.

A spokesperson for the force said the man, aged in his 50s, was "believed to have suffered a medical episode and was taken to hospital where he remains in a serious condition".

Officers have asked anyone who saw the car before the collision or may have dashcam footage of the incident to contact them.
