A 12-year-old boy has been arrested following a robbery in Salisbury city centre.

It happened outside McDonald's restaurant on Winchester Street at about 16:00 GMT on Monday, said Wiltshire Police.

A suspect known to the police "pinned someone against a pillar and stole cash from their pockets", the force said.

"There were a lot of people in the area when this incident took place and we believe part of it may have been recorded on a mobile phone," a force spokesperson added.

Officers have appealed for anyone with phone footage or knowledge of the incident to come forward.

The 12-year-old remains on bail pending further inquiries.
