The share of visitors to Guernsey coming from Paris has increased from 9% to 24% following a marketing campaign, according to Visit Guernsey.

It comes following the launch of Aurigny’s new direct route from the French capital in early April.

Visit Guernsey also targeted tourists from western France and Paris in a co-campaign with Condor Ferries.

A spokesperson said the advertising campaign describing the island as “a gem in the crown” had reached an estimated 20 million people in France.

This was achieved through social media posts, digital banners and targeted video reels.

The island has also organised a series of French journalist group trips starting with writers from Grazia and Yonder.

Visit Guernsey has also worked with French fashion magazine Gala.

In June, Gala travelled to the island for a week of shooting, following a tailor-made itinerary to photograph their autumn and winter edition which is due out later this year.

The edition will be entirely Guernsey focused and was shot across more than 25 locations, including Petit Bot, the Little Chapel, Moulin Huet, and Cobo Bay.
