A man has been charged with killing a woman in Dudley nearly five years ago.

Georgina Ward, 24, was found dead at her home in Brierley Hill on 24 November 2020.

West Midlands Police said Daniel Birtwistle, 40, from Tamworth, had been charged with manslaughter, two counts of controlling and coercive behaviour and three counts of assault.

He is due to appear at Dudley Magistrates Court on Thursday.

He has also been charged with a further six counts of assault and one count of controlling and coercive behaviour in relation to another three women.

In a tribute to Georgina, her family said she was a "remarkable young woman".

"She was a brilliant, creative and talented tattoo artist with a promising future and career in the industry, whose artwork is now a lasting legacy," they added.

The family said their lives had been "changed irrevocably" by the death of someone who was "beautiful, inside and out".
