A 17-year-old boy has appeared in court charged with attempted murder after a stabbing in Barnsley town centre.

South Yorkshire Police said a teenager and a 42-year-old man had been injured at a property on Regent Street at about 13:40 BST on 25 October.

The 17-year-old, who cannot be named, appeared at Barnsley Magistrates' Court on Wednesday and has been remanded into custody.

His next hearing will take place at Sheffield Crown Court on 3 December.
