A motorcyclist has been seriously injured after his bike collided with the central reservation on the M6.

The rider, a man in his 50s, was travelling northbound near junction 32 at Broughton, Preston, when the incident happened just after 18:30 BST on Saturday.

He hit the central reservation and then re-entered the live lanes before falling from the Triumph Tiger 1050 motorcycle, police said.

He was taken to hospital, where he is in a stable condition.

Sgt Paul McCurrie from Lancashire Police's Road Policing Unit said: “This collision has left a man with some serious injuries, and I would appeal to anyone who saw the incident itself or who has any dashcam footage to contact us.”
