A road has reopened after a broken-down tram caused heavy traffic to build in Nottingham.

Nottingham Travelwise said on Friday the tram had blocked Queens Drive (A453) at Enterprise Way, with emergency services and engineers called to the scene.

Tram operator Nottingham Express Transit (NET) said services were halted between Old Market Square and University Boulevard on the Toton Lane line, and Southchurch Drive on the Clifton South line shortly before 11:40 BST.

It added NCT buses were accepting tram tickets.
