Police are appealing for witnesses after a grave digging machine was stolen from an Aberdeenshire cemetery.

It is thought the black and yellow JCB Grave Master was taken from Kirkton Cemetery in Fraserburgh between 16:00 on Friday and 09:00 on Monday.

PC Jemma-Marie Keith, who is leading the investigation, said: "I would appeal to anyone witnessing any suspicious activity in the area to get in touch, external.

" Also if anyone has private CCTV in the vicinity and hasn't already been spoken to, please review your footage and get in contact if anything relevant is captured."

Police are also appealing for information following the thefts of five quad bikes from Aberdeenshire farms.

The vehicles were taken from farms along the A97 road between Alford and Aberchirder between last Friday and Sunday.

Officers believe a grey Ford Ranger pick-up was used to tow them away on a trailer.

Officers said the thefts had severely impacted the local farming community and have appealed for witnesses, including anyone with dashcam footage, to get in touch.
