Attempted murder arrest after teen stabbed

A man has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after a teenager was stabbed.

Emergency services were called to Burdock Close in Crawley, West Sussex, at 23:30 BST on Sunday, to reports a teenager had been stabbed.

A 15-year-old boy remains in a serious condition in hospital, Sussex Police said.

An 18-year-old-man was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and remains in custody.

A 17-year-old boy was also arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender and is also in custody.

Supt Imran Asghar said: "I understand this is an alarming incident for the wider community, and there will be an increased presence in the Broadfield area while we carry out inquiries and offer reassurance."

Detectives are appealing for witnesses to the incident, or anyone with dashcam or door camera footage, to come forward.

The force added there "is not believed to be any wider risk" to the public.
