Investigation after man attacked close to city pub

Police are investigating after a 35-year-old man was assaulted near a pub in Derby.

Derbyshire Police said they were called just before 18:00 BST to an injured man outside the Five Lamps in Darley.

Officers believe the attack took place in Belper Road close by and the injured man made his way to the front of the pub where he received help from members of the public.

The force added the man received injuries that were not thought to be life-threatening.

Paramedics also attended the scene and officers taped off the front of the pub while forensic units investigated the area.

A police spokesperson said the investigation was ongoing and anyone with information was urged to contact them.
