A pub that was closed for what is thought to be the production of the Harry Potter TV series has suffered damage after a fire.

Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue received a report of a fire within a storeroom of the Cleave Inn in Lustleigh, in the early hours of Sunday morning.

The pub was shut for filming on Wednesday and Thursday, a total of eight fire engines were sent to the scene, with an aerial ladder platform and water bowser also in attendance.

In a post on social media, the pub said it will be closed for a few days, needing to "clean up and re-stock".

The owner Luke Smith, said: "Whilst we are still not certain of the cause of the fire, and how the next few days look, we are working extremely hard to ensure we reopen as soon as possible.

"The pub means a lot to the village, and the village means a lot to us, so we'll do everything we can to get these doors back open to our loyal customers."

The fire service said the storeroom was severely damaged by fire and the cause of the fire is under investigation.
