A leisure park which opened more than 30 years ago has been bought by a property company.
Aspects Leisure Park in Bedford is home to a McDonald's fast food restaurant, a gym and a bingo hall.
EDG Property has not formally announced its plans for the site but has assembled a design team and engaged consultants to market the vacant units.
Director Neil Edginton said it was "already working closely with Bedford Borough Council, architects and agents to reinstate the site as a vital asset" for the town.
Aspects Leisure Park was home to a bowling alley, nightclub, bar, restaurants, laser tag centre and cinema when it first opened.
Discussions about the future of the site intensified last October with the closure of its Cineworld cinema.
"Like all towns and cities, Bedford is going through a period of change. We see that as a huge opportunity to inject fresh ideas and investment into a site that has provided many memories for local residents over the years," said Mr Edginton.
Mayor of Bedford Borough Council Tom Wootton said the purchase was further "proof" that "really exciting times" were ahead.
"With investors and developers now looking seriously at Bedford borough, along with the news of Universal Studios, this feels like a game-changing moment for us," he said.
