Timmy Mallet tours Trent towns in 'joyous' mission

A children's TV star has taken a "joyous" tour across Staffordshire as he explores the county's most popular sites.
Timmy Mallet, best known for his stint on Wacaday in the 1980s and 1990s, hopped on his bike to follow the River Trent with two of his friends who were born in the county.
He is on a mission to highlight the beauty and history of the region.
The group started in Stafford then went to Lichfield, then stopped in Alrewas for coffee before heading on to Derby.
"It's been fantastic, it's joyous with so many lovely places to explore and so many lovely people, it has been an absolute delight, " Mallet told BBC Radio Stoke.
The star made a pit stop at Stafford Rangers FC and his favourite pie shop in the town.
While cycling through Lichfield, he happened across passers-by who advised he head to the 300-year-old Dr Johnson's Willow tree - a historic sapling which is continually replanted.

The star discussed plans to make a trip back to the county later this summer to see the source of the River Trent.
