A woman has appeared in court accused of murdering her three-year-old daughter who was found dead at a house in Leeds.

The body of Hope McGrath was found inside a bungalow on Austhorpe Court in the Colton area of the city on Wednesday.

Pippa McGrath, 47, of Austhorpe Court, appeared at Leeds Magistrates' Court charged with murder between 26 and 30 July.

During the brief hearing, Ms McGrath spoke only to confirm her name, date of birth and address, and say she understood the charges before being remanded in custody to appear before the city's crown court on Tuesday.

West Yorkshire Police said officers discovered Hope's body after they were called to the quiet cul-de-sac following a report of a concern for safety.
