A man in his 80s is in a life-threatening condition after a "serious" crash in Colchester, police said

Two motorcyclists have been arrested after a pedestrian in his 80s suffered life-threatening injuries in a crash.

Essex Police was called at about 13:50 BST to St Botolph's Street in Colchester after a "serious collision".

The force said three people in total had been taken to hospital.

The motorcyclists were arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving.

A force spokesperson has urged witnesses or anyone with any information or dashcam footage to come forward to help with its inquiries.

St Botolph’s Street was closed to motorists and pedestrians between Vineyard Street and Queen Street while officers carried out investigations..
