A light aircraft carrying three people has crashed into an East Yorkshire garden, narrowly missing a house.

Humberside Fire and Rescue said it was called to Seamer Road in Octon near Driffield shortly before 20:00 BST on Tuesday.

All those onboard "self-released" prior to the arrival of firefighters. No injuries were reported.

A spokesperson for the Air Accidents Investigation Branch said it was aware of the incident and would begin an investigation.

According to Humberside Fire and Rescue, crews soaked up fuel and disconnected the plane battery.

The aircraft came down near Eddsfield Airfield.
