Demolition to begin at restaurant destroyed by fire

The demolition of a restaurant destroyed in a fire will begin on Wednesday, its owners say.
The Octopus Restaurant, in Havelet Bay, St Peter Port, was destroyed in a fire in February.
The demolition will take place in phases and the full work is expected to take about eight weeks, the owners said.
In a post on social media, Delphine Pesrin-Auder and Mickael Pesrin, who own the restaurant, said precautions were being taken to protect the public.
The owners said there would be "an element of dust and debris" released into the air during the demolition.
They said "comprehensive air-monitoring" would take place around the site during work hours "to ensure the safety of the area and any passers-by".
In the post, they said: "We appreciate that this is a site that is of significant interest and in the hearts of many locals.
"However, we would kindly ask that the public stay away from the site as far as is practicable during the demolition phase for their own safety and the safety of the construction team."
