A road closed due to a burst water main should reopen by the end of the week, a water company has said.

About 20 homes, as well as cars and gardens, on Lincoln Road in Werrington, Peterborough were affected by flooding on 26 May.

Anglian Water apologised for the disruption and thanked customers and road users for their patience.

The company said the pipe had been fixed and work on the road was continuing.

A spokesperson said: "We have repaired the burst water main on Lincoln Road (near to Sharma Leas) in Peterborough and our teams are now working to reinstate the road to make it safe for road users to use.

"All going well, it's planned that the road will be reopened by the end of this week.

“We'd like to thank our customers and road users for their patience over the past week while we get the road back to how it was."
