Mayflower train to steam through West Sussex

A historic steam train will travel through parts of West Sussex on Saturday.

The 61306 Mayflower, which is part of a day trip run by the Steam Dreams Rail Company, which will set off from Horsham.

The train, heading to Bristol and Bath, will also pick-up passengers from Pulborough, Arundel and Chichester.

It was built in 1948 at the North British Locomotive Company and withdrawn from service in 1967.

Passengers will be able to travel in one of three classes, including the premium pullman dining class.

Juliet Stoley, from the Steam Dreams Rail Company, said: "This is the first time for quite a few years that (we have) has run this journey from Horsham.

"We are very excited to be bringing it back."
