Firefighters have put out a blaze at a scrap metal yard in Birmingham.

West Midlands Fire Service said crews were called out just before 05:00 BST on Wednesday to Aston Church Road in Nechells.

The fire involved 150 tonnes of material, they said.

Firefighters were assisted by site staff, who used heavy machinery to separate piles of scrap for easy access.

The burnt material was safely processed on-site and there were no hotspots remaining, the fire service added.

Crews left the site shortly after 08:30.
