A parrot owner has renewed his appeal to find his missing pet and said the bird's life partner was now "depressed" and constantly calling out for her mate.

Yellow-naped amazon parrot Woody flew away at the end of October while being looked after in Witney, Oxfordshire.

Owner Ali Kohansal, who lives in Woodstock, was away on a trip at the time and said his mate Georgie was "missing him so much".

Woody is described as having a very distinctive voice and likes to whistle and say hello.

Mr Kohansal, who has been looking after parrots for three decades, said he had adopted the pair two-and-a-half years ago.

He said they would often join him for walks and bike rides, and they once had their photo taken with pop star Natalie Imbruglia after a chance meeting.

"People see us and it makes them smile - they have a huge fan club in Woodstock," he said.

He said Georgie was "constantly" calling out for Woody to remind him to keep the search going.

Mr Kohansal said that if anyone found Woody, they should keep in mind that being separated from Georgie made him "depressed as much as she is".

"They are coming up to their mating season... it would be great to have him back," he added.
