Evening and overnight passenger sailings between the Isle of Man and Lancashire have been cancelled due to a forecast of strong winds.

The Manxman's evening sailing from Douglas to Heysham has been called off, as has its overnight return.

The Isle of Man Steam Packet Company said it was due to a forecast of adverse weather with strong winds.

A yellow weather warning is in operation for coastal overtopping in some areas around the Manx coast from 23:00 on Tuesday until 03:00 GMT on Wednesday.

Ronaldsway Met Office said central and northern parts of Douglas Promenade were likely to be affected, as well as Shore Rd in Rushen and the promenades in Castletown, Laxey and Ramsey.

But inner harbour flooding was not expected for high tide at about 01:00, forecasters added.
