Heritage railway transports people back to the 1940s

A heritage railway has transported people back in time to World War Two.
Mid-Norfolk Railway's 1940s weekend welcomed guests dressed in vintage finery for two days of firepower demonstrations, classic vehicles and characters re-enacting the era.
The event has grown from a few stalls to now having displays at Dereham, Yaxham, Hardingham and Wymondham stations.
A ride on a steam train allowed guests to visit the various locations.
Husband and wife Angela and Phill normally stay at the Dereham station but decided to explore the other displays this weekend.
Angela said: "Our first time at a 40s event was in Sheringham and it grew from there, we realised how much fun it was.
"Everyone seems to go back to that 1940s camaraderie at these events. People always want to stop and have a chat."
Phill said he was fascinated by 1940s engineering.
Colin decided to join a group that recreates battles and landings after he and his wife started 1940s dance lessons.
"Everyone was dressed up except from us and this inspired me to buy the clothes, and it grew from there.
"My favourite part is explaining the vehicles and history to the children."
Jenny and grandson Max were celebrating his 14th birthday.
It was their third time at the event and they always enjoy the atmosphere and getting dressed up.
Max said: "I am interested in the war. I love the guns and the vehicles and I have family who fought in the war. I'm wearing my grandad's badge."
