A man has been charged with attempted murder after three pedestrians were struck by a car in Birmingham.

Two teenagers and a 20-year-old woman were hit by the car, which mounted the pavement in Burton Wood Drive, Handsworth, just before 02:30 BST on Saturday.

Jordan Hepburn, 20, has been charged with attempted murder and appeared before magistrates in Birmingham on Thursday.

He is the second suspect to be charged, with a man in his 50s also accused of attempted murder, earlier this week.

Police said a Nissan Qashqai mounted the pavement, causing severe cuts and bruising to a teenage girl and boy, as well as leaving a 20-year-old woman with a broken leg.

West Midlands Police is appealing for witnesses, who can also call Crimestoppers anonymously.
