Firefighters were called to an electrical pole fire in a Devon village on Saturday.

Buckfastleigh Fire Service, external said the power supply shorted out, causing a fire within the pole located next to a construction site in Dartington at about 08:30 BST, which caused it to snap at the top.

Crews requested National Grid staff attend and then stood by for "precautionary actions until the supply had been safely isolated", Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service said.

Totnes Fire Station was also in attendance and the fire was extinguished.
