Police are investigating the sudden death of a man, who is believed to have been working on a refuse lorry.

Guernsey Police said George Street in St Peter Port had been closed to allow officers time to conduct initial enquiries.

Police said they were called to the area in the early hours and are appealing for witnesses.

"It is believed the man was working on a refuse lorry which was operating in that area this morning," said the force in a statement.
