Police have released an image of a man they are looking for after three women were followed and approached late at night on separate occasions in south London.

During two of the incidents, which took place during October and November in Brixton and Balham, the victims were grabbed by a man but managed to escape.

On the third occasion, a woman noticed she was being followed by a man as she walked in Clapham Junction but shouted at him as he got closer, causing him to flee.

The Met, which is treating the three incidents as linked, said they had been "extremely frightening incidents for the women involved".

On 10 October, a woman fought off a man who approached her as she entered a property on Barrington Road, Brixton, at about 22:50 GMT.

Then on 17 November, another woman was followed by a man as she walked on Sisters Avenue in Clapham Junction at about 04:00.

Two days later, a third woman was approached and grabbed by a man on Sumburgh Road in Balham at about 01:40, but managed to get away from him.

Describing the incidents as linked, police said they were looking for a man who was white, aged between 25 and 30 years old and of slim build with short blonde hair.

Ch Insp Dave Lee said officers were "using all of the resources at our disposal to identify the individual responsible".

“We know this will cause community concern and we will be carrying out extra patrols at key times," he said.
