Country Park to get £75,000 toilet

A country park is to get a £75,000 disabled toilet.
The specially-adapted convenience, which will include a shower and changing facilities, will be built close to the entrance of Witton Park in Blackburn.
It is one of three new Changing Places Toilets being introduced in Blackburn with Darwen borough.
The other two will be at Blackburn Cathedral and Blackburn Rovers' Ewood Park stadium.
Changing Places Toilets are large accessible toilets for severely disabled people.
They are legally required in all new public buildings in England with a capacity for 350 or more people.
Over a quarter of a million people in the UK need them to enjoy the day-to-day activities.
A report by Blackburn with Darwen Council’s public health boss, councillor Damian Talbot, told colleagues that the Witton Park toilet would provide "more space" and the "right equipment".
The facilities include hoists, changing benches and space for carers.
'Under-provided'
Mr Talbot said the council had "under-provided" as there is currently only one Changing Places Toilet in the borough, in Blackburn Market.
The report added: "Witton Country Park is the busiest park within the borough as it is visited by residents from across Blackburn and Darwen and surrounding areas.
"Once these changing places toilets have been completed, there will be four in the borough."
