Flats plan for former city centre nightclub

A former nightclub in Bradford city centre could be converted into flats if new plans are given the go-ahead.
Last year, Bradford Council revoked the licence of the Krizma club after police told a licensing committee of numerous violent incidents in and around the site.
The proposed re-development of the building on Sackville Street would see its roof raised to create more space for the flats, according to the plans.
A decision on the application for a change of use for the site is expected to be made by councillors in June.
Bradford Council’s district licensing panel stripped the Krizma club of its licence in May 2023.
Police had told councillors of a string of serious incidents at the club, including a stabbing and an incident where knives were found at a car park near the venue.
Sackville Street has long been one of the main areas of Bradford for nightclubs, many of which are open until early morning.
If approved, the flats would be a mix of four one-bed flats and one two-bed flat over two floors, the Local Democracy Reporting Service said.
The application, submitted to Bradford Council by Krusor Estates Ltd, said that the proposal would bring an empty city centre property back into use.
