A former Metropolitan Police officer has pleaded guilty to taking indecent images of a 16-year-old girl.

Alec Radosavljevic, 22, was charged with taking 43 indecent images, including seven ranked Category A - the most serious serious type - between 18 March and 8 May of last year.

Southwark Crown Court heard the teenager had been his girlfriend, and the pictures were "intimate photographs taken on his phone either by him or by her".

Radosavljevic, of Camden, was bailed and is due to be sentenced at the same court on 31 January.

Campaspe Lloyd-Jacob, defending, said the girl had been "a willing party" to the images and had been in an "enduring relationship" with Radosavljevic.

Radosavljevich admitted five counts of taking indecent images of children and one count of making indecent images of children during a short plea hearing on Wednesday.

He was previously attached to the Met's West Area Basic Command Unit and was suspended from duties before losing his job.
