A man has been been arrested on suspicion of sexual assault after a young boy was reportedly inappropriately touched and chased.

Thames Valley Police said the attack happened near the sports pavilion by Finchampstead Baptist Church Centre on Gorse Ride North on Sunday at about 15:45 BST.

The force said the boy was touched over his clothing before a man, who also appeared to be taking photos and was seen approaching children aged between 10 and 11, ran after him.

The arrested man, aged 58 from Finchampstead, has been released on police bail until September.

Police are urging witnesses and anyone who has any information to come forward.

Det Sgt Pauline Cameron said: "I would like to thank the community and everyone who has phoned in with information so far.

"We understand that people will have been concerned to hear of this report, however I ask that you please don't speculate about the circumstances of this incident as we continue to progress our investigation."
