A man has been arrested after another man was punched in the face near a swimming pool in Leicester.
Leicestershire Police said a man in his 50s was assaulted at the leisure centre in Beaumont Way, Beaumont Leys, on 7 September at about 14:20 BST.
The victim fell to the ground and hit his head, which left him with serious injuries that required hospital treatment. The attacker left the pool shortly afterwards.
A 34-year-old man was detained on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm with intent on 9 September and was later bailed.
The investigating officer, Det Con Alex Horwood, said: "I know there were other people in the pool at the time and I'd like to speak to anyone who was there and saw what happened but who has not yet spoken to police.
"Any details you're able to provide, no matter how insignificant you think they are, could help our investigation."
