An 18-year-old has appeared in court accused of fleeing from police and causing a serious three-car crash, all while driving without a licence.
Kenzie Kirk is also charged with causing serious injury to a woman, who was driving one of the cars involved in the collision on Whitfield Drive on Monday.
Prosecutors allege Mr Kirk attempted to pervert the course of justice by running away from police after driving a black Audi A3 without insurance.
The incident forced the closure of the road for almost seven hours.
Mr Kirk, from Dundee, made no plea during a brief hearing in private at Dundee Sheriff Court.
He faces six charges under the Road Traffic Act 1988, including causing serious injury by dangerous driving.
He was granted bail and the case was continued for further examination.
The Police Investigations and Review Commissioner has confirmed it has received a referral from Police Scotland in relation to the incident.
