Resident flees kitchen fire at flat
Crews from across the island were sent to the fire at the block of low-rise flats on Tuesday evening

One person has been taken to hospital after fleeing a kitchen fire at a flat.
Firefighters were sent to the low rise block of flats on Newport Street, Ryde, Isle of Wight on Tuesday, shortly after 18:30 BST.
Hampshire & Isle of Wight Fire & Rescue Service said the resident of the flat had got out of the building before crews arrived.
The service added they were treated at the scene for minor smoke inhalation before being taken to hospital as a precaution.
