Appeal date confirmed for suspended paramedics

An appeal date has been confirmed for two suspended paramedics who were found guilty over their care of a patient.
Tom Le Sauteur and John Sutherland failed to take reasonable care of Frazer Irvine, who died after taking an overdose, a ruling in June found.
A crowdfunding page was set up to help with legal fees by supporters unhappy with the verdict. It has reached more than £48,000.
Jersey Royal Court said the appeal was listed to be heard on the 21 October for two days.
Mr Sutherland and Mr Le Sauteur attended Mr Irvine's home in Jersey on 18 March 2022. The 39-year-old had called 999 and had a cardiac arrest due to a drug overdose.
The court heard evidence the pair had felt threatened by Mr Irvine’s behaviour and withdrew to call for police back up. Mr Irvine later died.
The prosecution said further delays to brief officers and to put on protective clothing meant that the paramedics "failed to take reasonable care" for Mr Irvine’s health and safety.
Mr Sutherland and Mr Le Sauteur remain suspended from duty.
