A man has died, and another has suffered life-threatening injuries, following a crash.

The man, in his 30s, was the driver of a car which collided with a van on Park Road in Barrow at about 22:30 BST on Tuesday, Cumbria Police said.

He was pronounced dead at the scene, while the van driver was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries.

Police are appealing for witnesses, or anyone with dashcam footage who was in the area around the time of the crash, to come forward.

A police spokesman said: "Officers are particularly keen to speak to anyone that may have a dashcam in their vehicle, or from anyone who saw a black Audi or a blue Vauxhall van at the time of the collision."
